RP EXAMPLEIt could be said that Stefan was enjoying his walk until having been run into by an American. Without further explanation, it was obvious that he was not pleased about the situation but made the mistake of assuming that the "attacker" had been one of his own people and not a foreigner. Okay, foreigners weren't exactly common in Belgrade. Not many people even knew that Belgrade existed nor could they find it on a map. If not for World War 1, most probably wouldn't even know that Serbia existed if not for a few wars during the 1990's and this little problem with Kosovo. Kosovo broke away from Serbia. Serbia did not kick Kosovo out of the house.
Before Serbia had a chance to properly stand up, he found himself getting yanked out of the snow and hauled onto his feet. First off, his balance was way off from that and second, he had nearly lost his dogs. He didn't plan on letting go of the leashes, but the suddenness and abruptness of the encounter was quite a shock to Stefan. His mind wasn't registering English and seemed to translate everything into Serbian with a will of its own. That only furthered his assumption that someone from Belgrade, one of his citizens, had crashed into him. With that notion, Serbia raised his voice some and went off into a solid scolding about not touching him and watching where "he" was going. Stefan yanked himself away from this "man from Belgrade" and continued on his tirade saying things about how upset the dogs were.
He bent down and picked up the leashes before finally turning around and noticing that this mysterious person was a foreigner and female, He thought she looked familiar, but couldn't be sure. So, to play things safe, he finished his rant in English so that she could understand. "--be more careful and if you need to be somewhere, say something first so that I van move out of the way and again, don't get so close to me! There have been enough 'accidents' in this city and country, so don't be starting any more!"
Serbia reached for the pistol he usually kept in his coat (his boss had told him not to carry rifles around in public while doing civilian things), but upon seeing many of his own citizens watching, decided against such a brash course of action. He took several deep breaths and felt his throat get tight. He didn't have time to babysit hapless tourist. This was his city. At the very least they could show some respect...but...did he know her? Probably not. Even if he did, it wouldn't matter. She was a guest and he was the host. But she wasn't Slavic, so he didn't have to be too nice. Either way, he wasn't looking out after anyone but his dogs.
